The healings and miracles of other churches, are they from God?

Asked by: Sis. Yolanda Mauricio from Trujillo, Peru

Sis. Yolanda: Good evening, brother! I would like to ask about the healings and miracles done by other churches.

Bro. Eli Soriano:

Most miracles now are not of God. In Matthew 24:24 let us read –

Matthew 24:24 ISV

because false messiahs and false prophets will have arisen and will produce great signs and startling demonstrations so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

So as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. These persons who are doing miracles in our time was prophesied by our Lord Jesus Christ, the true Christ, who did the true miracles in the bible. He said, “false messiahs will rise” and these false messiahs will also produce false miracles. Let us read in Matthew 7:22 –

Matthew 7:22-23 ISV

Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name, drove out demons in your name, and performed many miracles in your name, didn’t we?’

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who practice evil!’”

You who practice evil, who are performing miracles, in order to deceive, in order to mislead people. So that they will get rich.

Sister, a miracle is not necessary, for a preacher to be true in the church. Remember that John the baptist did not do any miracle. In John 10:41 –

John 10:41

Many people came to him and kept saying, “John never performed a sign, but everything that John said about this man is true!”

John never performed a sign, nor a miracle. But everything that John said about his man is true. What is more important is the preaching or teaching of the truth, because the truth is the salvation of the soul, and not the miracles. Even if there are miracles, but the teachings are not the truth, but they are lies, you will not be saved. Let us read in John 7:17 –

John 7:17-18

If anyone wants to do his will, he’ll know whether this teaching is from God or whether I’m speaking on my own.

The one who speaks on his own seeks his own praise. But the one who seeks the praise of him who sent him is genuine, and there’s nothing false in him.

Amen. According to our Lord Jesus Christ, the savior sent by the Father, “If anyone wants to do his will,” that is the will of the Father, “he’ll know whether this teaching is from God or whether I’m speaking on my own.he’ll know whether this teaching is from God or whether I’m speaking on my own.” The teaching is the most important consideration to know the truth.

John 7:17-18

If anyone wants to do his will, he’ll know whether this teaching is from God or whether I’m speaking on my own.

The one who speaks on his own seeks his own praise. But the one who seeks the praise of him who sent him is genuine, …

How can we say that it is genuine? It is by means of the teachings. Is it by means of the doctrines and not by means of the miracles. Why? There are prophets who practice miracles, but miracles which came from satan. The objective is to deceive people or to mislead people.

Most churches now that are capitalizing or depending on miracles are false churches. It is not the miracle that we should look into. It is in the doctrines, just like the apostles in 1 Thessalonians 2:3-4 –

1 Thessalonians 2:3-4

For our appeal to you does not spring from deceit, impure motives, or trickery.

Rather, because we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, we speak as we do, not trying to please people but God, who tests our motives.

It is very clear.

1 Thessalonians 2:4

Rather, because we have been approved by God…

They are the people trusted by God with the gospel.

1 Thessalonians 2:4

Rather, because we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, we speak as we do,

Nothing added, and nothing taken away or removed.

1 Thessalonians 2:4

Rather, because we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, we speak as we do, not trying to please people but God, who tests our motives.

In verse 5 –

1 Thessalonians 2:5

As you know, we did not come with flattering words or with a scheme to make money. God is our witness!

The apostle Paul is very sure that he is teaching the truth. It is not by means of miracles but by means of the doctrines that the apostles taught.

Do you understand, sister Yolanda?

Sister Yolanda: yes, brother.

Bro. Eli: Thanks be to God! May God bless you, sister Yolanda.
