Why are there so many destructions in the world and dangers in the streets?

Asked by: Bro. Cecilio Aquino from La Paz, Bolivia

What I would like to ask is why are there so many destructions in the world and dangers in the streets. Is it because the world will be destroyed? I am very sad about this, brother.

Bro. Eli Soriano:

Brother, this world is destined for total destruction. According to the word of God, let us read in Zephaniah 1:18 –

Zephaniah 1:18 NIV

Neither their silver nor their gold will deliver them
in the Day of the Lord’s wrath;
but the entire land will be consumed
by the fire of his jealousy,
for he will bring the inhabitants of the land to a sudden end.”

According to the Lord, He will bring a sudden end or a total destruction. By the fire of His jealousy, all the entire land will be consumed. Why? Why? Let us read in Isaiah 13:11 –

Isaiah 13:11

I’ll punish the world for its evil,
and the wicked for their iniquity;
I’ll put an end to the pomposity of the arrogant,
and overthrow the insolence of tyrants.

Amen. I’ll punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity, I’ll put and end to pomposity of the arrogant,… so all the destructions that are mentioned, all dangers and all evil and all wickedness in the world will come to an end, in the time of the anger of the Lord. The earth will be destroyed. Not like the beliefs of the Jehova’s Witnesses that the earth will be preserved and will be inherited by them. It is a lie. Let us read in 2 Peter 3:10 –

2 Peter 3:10 KJV

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

THE EARTH ALSO AND THE WORKS THAT ARE THEREIN SHALL BE BURNED UP. In reality, it is not only the earth, but as well as the heavens or universe that we have right now, will also be destroyed. Let us read in Hebrews 12:26 –

Hebrews 12:26-27

 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

Amen. This is the truth declared by God in the bible. As said by apostle Paul, “his voice” before our times,

Hebrews 12:26-27

shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

That is why the Christian belief includes the belief that this earth will be destroyed. It will be replaced by another earth. Let us read in Revelations 21:1-2 –

Revelations 21:1-2

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. So that the words of our Lord Jesus Christ be done, wherein He said –

Matthew 24:35

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Do you understand, brother Cecilio?

Brother Cecilio: Brother, here in Bolivia we are very sad. Because the things that are happening are very dangerous for us. However, I as a brother, as a Christian I feel that the church is protected. Thank you brother.

Bro Eli Soriano:

Brother, It is true that there are dangers around us, but we have the promise of the Lord. That the Lord will not leave us alone. Let us read in Hebrews 13:5 –

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,because God has said,

Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”

NEVER WILL I LEAVE YOU, NEVER WILL I FORSAKE YOU. It is the promise of the Lord who can not lie. God, regarding his promises, always speaks with sincerity. There are no lies or whatever. Let us read, brother Cecilio, about the dangers in the streets, even in your own house, there is a danger. Because criminals now enter houses. The danger is not only in the street but even in your own house.

But because we believe in the promise of God, We have peace because of our faith. Let us read in Romans 5:1 –

Romans 5:1

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. And so that we may remain in peace, what must we do? In Philippians 4:6-7 –

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.6 Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have. 7 And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds.[

Very good! In verse 6 it says,

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything,

Let us read another translation,

Philippians 4:6 KJV

Be careful for nothing;

Another more translation,

Philippians 4:6 ASV

In nothing be anxious;

Let us read another translation,

Philippians 4:6 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition

Be nothing solicitous;

Philippians 4:6-7 Easy-to-Read version

Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have. And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds.

THE PEACE OF GOD. In the true church, we have peace because of our faith in God in our Lord Jesus Christ. This peace is within our hearts because we believe in the promise of God that states I will not leave you –

Hebrews 13:5

…“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”

It is enough that we believe in that God will save us and we will have peace in our hearts.

There are verses that give us the confidence that if we live in God’s way, God is always ready to protect the true Christians. Let us read in 1 Peter 5:7 –

1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

That is a very consoling word from God. Casting all your anxiety on Him. Because He cares for you. The care of God for Christians is more that sufficient in casting all the anxieties in our minds and in our hearts. I hope you understand that, brother Cecilio.

Brother Cecilio: Brother Eli, here we are all satisfied more than we give thanks to God. We are waiting for you here in the future, brother.

Brother Eli: God willing it is also my intention to see you all personally. I hope someday God will permit me to see you. Thanks be to God. May God bless you, brother Cecilio.
